Expert Surgical Care for All Medical Procedures and Cosmetic Treatments
To ensure seamless continuum of care, we have board-certified oral maxillofacial surgeons on staff available during extended office hours if needed. Now, when your dentist recommends a specific procedure such as the removal of your wisdom teeth, we can schedule your appointment while you are in the chair. Our on-site oral surgeons are able to consult with the dentist in person and through digital file sharing, for more customized and personalized care.
Additionally, our access to so many insurance providers, credit programs and flexible payment plans means you don’t have to hunt for an oral maxillofacial surgeon that meets your needs. All of our surgeons are licensed, board-certified and selected for their experience.
We practice a full range of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from implant reconstructive surgery to corrective jaw surgery and wisdom tooth removal.
Our doctors are fully trained in the administration of anesthesia – both general anesthesia and I.V. sedation. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery.
We are oral and maxillofacial surgeons located in Tidewater, Virginia. Currently our oral and maxillofacial surgeons work from one of our Virginia Beach offices and from one of our Chesapeake offices. Call to schedule an appointment at the Hampton Roads location closest to you.

What is an oral maxillofacial surgeon?
An oral and maxillofacial surgeon is a regional specialist surgeon treating the entire craniomaxillofacial complex, which includes the anatomical area of the mouth, jaw, face, skull, as well as associated structures.
In Virginia, maxillofacial surgeons require training in dentistry, surgery, and general medicine.
Oral and maxillofacial surgery is widely recognized as one of the specialties of dentistry. All oral and maxillofacial surgeons, however, must obtain a university degree in dentistry before beginning residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Every oral surgeon at Konikoff Dentistry is board certified and has Virginia licensure.

In his free time, he volunteers at the Hampton Roads Dental Center.
Kaine Stokes, DDS
Taking care of patients as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon is a perfect fit for Dr. Kaine Stokes, DDS. The Wisconsin native has always enjoyed helping people – even in challenging circumstances.
During his residency with the U.S. Navy, Dr. Stokes spent six weeks on a mission trip in Belize, a country located on the eastern coast of Central America. By day, he took care of an entire school’s dental needs, treating students and faculty. At night, he would examine and treat the students’ parents to make sure the entire family had proper dental care.
Dr. Stokes discovered his passion for dentistry long before he ever went to college or trained to be a surgeon. Growing up in Barron, Wisconsin, he watched his uncle, also a dentist, improve the health of patients through his dentistry practice.
After earning two Bachelor of Science degrees at the University of Minnesota – one for biology and another for chemistry – Dr. Stokes pursued dentistry and oral surgery at the University of Minnesota Dental School. He completed his residency at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center in 2014.
Today, Dr. Stokes finds great satisfaction working at Konikoff Dentistry. Not only does he love helping patients, he also appreciates working with the practice’s other dentists and surgeons who share the same high level of commitment to patient care.
At home, Dr. Stokes enjoys spending time with his wife, son and daughter. When he’s not coaching his son’s baseball team, he loves to bike outdoors and play golf.
