We Are Open – Safety is Our Top Priority!
We’ve reopened in accordance with CDC, O.S.H.A., and State Dental Board guidelines to responsibly resume seeing our patients for regular dental appointments and treatment. We want to assure you of the measures we take to maintain a clean and safe environment so you can continue to receive needed dental care without fear or concern.
If you are looking for a new dentist, at our dental office we hope you’ll find a dentist general practice where your whole family can have the comprehensive dental care that they deserve. Our general dentist strives to make every experience as pain-free as possible, which is the way general family dentistry should be.
What is a Dentist?
A general dentist is a person who protects their patient’s oral health with preventative and diagnostic services. They educate their patients about oral hygiene and oral health issues, in addition to treating any dental issues that arise.
What Are the Duties of a General Dentist?
A general dentist sees patients who need routine exams, patients who make an appointment because they are in pain, and they see people who want to know which cosmetic procedure would improve an aspect of their smile that bothers them.
General Dentistry Services
We offer the following affordable general dentistry services with a smile:
- Dental Exams & Teeth Cleaning
- Dental Sealants
- Dentures – Complete & Partial
- Fillings, Crowns & Bridges
Do I Need to See a Dentist Every Six Months?
Yes, a routine exam every six months allows your general dentist to focus on preventing problems instead of fixing them. If you are a high risk for gum disease or other oral health problem, our dentist may wish to see you more often.
How Much Will I Pay for a Dental Visit?
What type of preventative or diagnostic service that you have and whether our dentist finds a problem and treats it during your visit determines your cost. The amount varies; if cost is a concern or if you do not have dental insurance, please let us know when you make your appointment and our staff will attempt to provide you with an estimated price range, based on the reason for your visit.
How Do I Make an Initial Dental Appointment?
If you were looking for a “general dentist near me,” please call our office to schedule an appointment. Our friendly team is always ready to welcome new patients.
How Long Does the Average Dental Visit Last?
If you’re coming in for a routine examination and teeth cleaning, your appointment should take about an hour. If you are having other work done at our general dental office, you can ask us for an estimate of about how long the procedure will take.
Is There Anything that I Should Do Before My Appointment?
We will ask you for your medical history if it is your first time visiting us, and please bring in a list of your medications. If you have dental insurance, please bring the information with you as well. If you are apprehensive about visiting a dentist, let us know beforehand. We’ll do everything we can to put you at ease.
What is the Worst Thing That Could Happen if I Never Went to the Dentist?
We make it as easy and affordable as possible to visit our general dentist in Chesapeake, but if you are dead set against ever visiting a dentist, you can expect pain and tooth loss. No one has perfect teeth; almost everyone gets cavities and cavities do not heal themselves. Please reconsider and call us to schedule an exam. We will not lecture you about not visiting a dentist before.
